Dimplex Makes Renewables Painless at Ecobuild
Dimplex is showing a wide
range of low carbon heating
solutions at Ecobuild 2010
(3-5 March), designed to
make the specification and
installation of renewable
energy systems painless.
The manufacturer offers the
UK’s widest range of heat
pumps, covering ground, air
and water source models.
A new range of high
efficiency air source models
offers levels of efficiency
comparable with ground
source units, yet without the
need for associated ground
collectors. The range delivers CoPs in excess of 4.0 even at low ambient
air temperatures and is available in a choice of five outputs from 9 - 40kW.

Free Geothermal Heat
Geothermal Heat is free and
constantly available from depths
below 15 m where the heat comes
from the earths core. To harvest this
free heat a heatpump is employed to
raise the temperature of the heat and
deliver it into the building. To achieve
this we abstract ground water at
10/14°C, and we install underfloor
heating which is more efficient than a
radiator system, and can heat the
building using water at temperatures
of 30°C or less. This means
6 kilowatts of heat is delivered at the
required temperature by a heatpump
using 1 kilowatt of electricity.
At Earthtest Energy we ensure that the heatpump system is correctly
integrated into the buildings design and construction and that the interfaces
with the buildings other systems are properly managed.
