Hamworthy Solar Heats Community Housing
A new development in
Plaistow, East London,
is setting the trend for
renewable energy in
community housing,
with the installation of
63 ModuSol solar
collectors from
Hamworthy Heating.
Ecogale Services Ltd,
the M&E contractors for
the project, approached
Hamworthy Heating for
a compact and simple
to install solution and
chose the company’s products as it provided a space saving solution whilst
significantly reducing the building’s carbon footprint. Through Hamworthy’s
Technology Partner Programme, the solar collectors were installed by one of

Hansgrohe at Ecobuild 2010
On Stand 2220 at Ecobuild,
Hansgrohe demonstrates that no
compromise in design or quality is
required in order to save water with
their stylish range of water-saving
showers, taps and thermostatic
mixers. For example, the Crometta
85 Green. Thanks to a
combination of devised flow
regulation and central air intake,
this clever shower delivers just
6 litres of water per minute while
still providing great performance.
On 1st September 2009,
this shower was added to the
Water Technology List as part of
the government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme.

It’s Solar Power, But Not As You Know It…
The next generation of photovoltaic
panels, hailed as a revolution in
photovoltaic systems for creating
sustainable green electricity, is set to
change the future of solar power
production. Solyndra
®
Solar
Photovoltaic system, available from
ICB (International Construction
Bureau) Ltd, represents a
technological breakthrough - a low
cost system that develops the
highest possible solar electrical
energy output. Especially
developed for flat or typical low
slope rooftops Solyndra challenges
all current thinking around photovoltaic's. Traditional flat panels have been
replaced by a lightweight grilles which simply rest on the roof.

Heating & Ventilation Put Energy Efficiency First
Johnson & Starley is highlighting
examples of its energy saving heating,
ventilation and heat recovery systems at
Ecobuild 2010, Stand 1862. Both new
and established products will be on
show including the renowned RenoXtra
range of boilers, LE155/250 whole
house heat recovery systems, CE180
and 300 Premier central extract
ventilation systems. RenoXtra high
efficiency combination condensing
boilers are available in 30 kW and 37 kW
models with each model featuring a gas
saver module - a passive flue gas heat
recovery system - built into its cabinet.
This provides additional system
efficiency by re-cycling flue gas heat
which would normally be wasted and
expelled to the atmosphere.
