Consultants of Somerset,
have contributed to an
ecological landscape scheme at
a striking new development of
Student Apartments in
Falmouth. Built on a foundation
of horticultural expertise,
Blackdown were chosen to
work with Landscape Architect
Charlotte Rathbone of the
Rathbone Partnership in Devon, helping to refine her original planting design,
ensuring that it would survive the dry, windy conditions of the elevated coastal
position. Blackdown’s installation comprised of bio-diverse of intensive green
roof shrub planting and pebble border.

Burdens Helps Carillion Deliver Eco-School
Burdens is pleased to be
supplying the materials for
the ground-to-air heating
system that is being installed
at the historic Queen
Elizabeth’s School in Dorset,
which dates back to Tudor
times. The system being
supplied by Burdens has
been designed and
manufactured by Rehau,
the worldwide brand for
polymer-based innovations
and systems. In this case,
3500 m of its Awadukt Thermo twin-walled polypropylene pipe work is being
buried beneath three of the school’s new teaching blocks as part of what will
be the world’s largest ground-to-air heating system installation.
