Q: Is there anything interesting that the breeding community (for your breed) is collectively
working on?
A: Some hereditary defects
Q: Do you feel the current AKC/UKC standard is adequate?
A: Yes. I can't see that the job the Australian Cattle Dog was initially bred for has changed,
therefore breeders should breed to meet the standard, not change the current standard to
meet their breeding program.
In conclusion, remember, clubs do not make or break the breed, breeders do. What part of
this do you want to be responsible for as a breeder? When the ACD fancy ceases to be fun for
you, then quit doing it.
