A: CH Buzzards Lady In Red, Australian import CH Queblue River Meg, and Buzzards Blue Molly
Q: Which dog and bitch in your breeding program was most successful or that you feel contrib‐
uted the most to the breed. Why?
A: CH Buzzards Red Tubs HX bred to Buzzards Blue Molly, who was his granddam, in the past,
and CH Buzzards Kicken' Up Dust bred to CH Queblue River Meg recently, who have produced
some outstanding seed stock.
Q: How do you raise your puppies?
A: That's a guarded heirloom secret.
Q: What do you feed your dogs, puppies, etc?
A: Nutrisource Dog Food
Q: Do you believe you have a distinguishable line?
A: Yes, as previously stated, even a novice dog person can find a Buzzard dog in the crowd.
Q: If you were going to rate type, temperament and soundness in order of importance, what
would be the order and why?
A: I don't feel you can separate traits as important as those, or lend more importance to any
single one, because if you fail at any of the three, you have taken the Cattle Dog out of the
ACD.
Q: What do you think are the most serious faults in the breed today?
A: Inconsistency in type and quality. The breeders and experts without any expertise.
Q: What would you say are the biggest problems facing the breed today?
A: A lack of proper education for our judges and breeders
Q: Do you consider yourself a mentor to others just coming into the breed?
A: Yes, we try to share our experience with new judges and breeders. Experience is the best
teacher, it costs more, but lasts longer.
Q: What advice would you give them in starting out on the right road?
A: Buy the best dogs you can buy, buy from a breeder that has proven his bloodline and make
sure they are genotypically and phenotypically correct.
Q: What should people who are interested in this breed know before they bring one of these
dogs into their homes?
A: They need to realize they are a herding breed and they need a job. They need to dedicate
several hours a day to working, playing and training them for their future, especially when
they are puppies and adolescents.
