Anyone that has a dog will use glorious adjectives to describe their beloved friend. For a
working dog, such descriptions do not seem adequate enough. They have sat in howling
winds, blowing snow, and summer heat with just as much purpose as the perfect weather
days. But we have sat there too, together, partners watching over our herd with shared
devotion to the day’s work. We are not their master, but rather a partner in a way of life
that requires implicit devotion to task at hand, even when the conditions are harsh and
the days are long and full of gritty work. Yet, every morning, we are all smiling and ready
for more.
