LIGHTING DESIGNER (LD) OR LIGHTING CONSULTANT: A trained professional with
expertise in preparing documentation for lighting and lighting specification.
LIGHTING FIXTURE SCHEDULE (OR TABLE): Typically an abbreviated summary of
lighting products and/or lighting equipment specified for a project with product
ordering information identified.
LIRC: Lighting Industry Resource Council.
MANUFACTURER: A fabricator of lighting equipment or control systems, their
agents and/or representatives.
QUANTITY SURVEYOR (QS): Cost Estimator.
TENDER: Bid Phase.
UL: Underwriter’s Laboratory.
VALUE ENGINEERING: A process of re-evaluating the project design to make cost
savings to bring the project into the allocated budget.
