Train to Gain
Train to Gain is a government initiative to raise the skill levels of people who are in
work and it enables those in employment to enhance their existing qualifications,
knowledge and skills through taking an NVQ at level 2 or above. An NVQ requires
demonstration of competence in practical workbased knowledge and skills and
learners are supported by a professional trainer/assessor.
The qualifications covered by Train to Gain focus on vocational training which enable employees to achieve a
nationally recognised award that demonstrates their competency and effectiveness in their current job role.
