GOLF WELCOMES NEW
TALENT FOR 2009.
The University of Wales, Newport School of Golf is delighted to
announce The offering of another 3 excellent and very exciting
scholarships to upcoming young golfers. Each of these players came
with the highest recommendations and have undertaken skills tests
and a match play tournament in order to be considered for selection.
Their final hurdle was an interview.

interview. Kate Whitmore
Kate Whitmore joins us from Cheshire
where she is part of the County and
England Birdies set up. She currently
plays off 2. She will be enrolling on to
the Sports Coaching and Development
programme in September.
Vince Thorne is a graduate of
Loughborough University and will be
enrolling onto the MBA programme in
September. He comes to us a +1 golfer
who has recently won the Trubshaw
Trophy. He is currently top of the British
Universities and Colleges Sport Order
of Merit and has been selected to play
for the British Universities team in the
forthcoming Home Internationals. Hailing
from Haverfordwest he joins as a home
University of Wales, Newport
grown talent.
