Since our last issue (Fall/Winter 2008) of Thank You Notes, it

2009 Founders’ Gala 5 Foundation's Bill Wright Volunteer Award at the annual Holiday Donor Appreciation
event in December for their extraordinary gifts of time, talent and treasure.
Pediatric Toy Closet 7 Karen Traina, chair of last year's Pink Ribbon Event's Tribute Banner effort, helped
raise more than $180,000 to fund the Coastal Care Van operations that will enable the

throughout the region as well as Comfort Bags to hundreds of women diagnosed with
Gifts to the Foundation 9 cancer every year in our community. Veronica Godwin served as Co-Chair of the 2008
Founders' Gala which funded the purchase of three (3) pediatric Vein Viewers -
enabling caregivers greater accuracy when administering I.V. medications to our small
patients. Angie Jackson served as Co-Chair of the 2008 Red Dress Luncheon to make it
possible for the Medical Center to provide cholesterol screenings and cardiac risk
assessments as well as education materials on heart disease to women throughout our
