The compressor is used when music which is recorded with a very heavy beat, is "compressed"
or flattened out, so most speaker systems can handle it. Otherwise distortion or even speaker damage
can result.
You can do all these things by referring to the mastering skill sheet, and the controls are located
by clicking on the blue “i” in the lower right hand corner. This will get you to the TRACK INFOR-
MATION window. At the bottom of the window you will see a triangle with DETAIL beside it. Click
on the triangle. A window with these controls appears. See the "How to Master the Tracks" Skill
Sheet. (Fig. 2)
Mastering is a very highly individualized art, and is best learned by experimenting according to
your musical tastes.

HOW TO MIX AND ADJUST THE TRACKS
You may want your tracks at difernt sound levls acording to the style and
structure of your Garage band music.

Paning
Record Lock is used to keep from accidentally recording on the track.
Mute is used to silence a track while editing other tracks.
Solo is just the oposite...if you want to listen to nly the chosen track.
Track Lock is used to keep from editing the track by accident.
Volume / Pan controls the volume of the track and paning. Paning is puting the track in one speaker more than
another.
Pan manually controls the balance of the track in the speakers if not pre-programed by Volume/Pan.
Volume manually controls the of the track if not pre-programed by Volume/Pan.
VU Metr visually shows the track volume lvel.
