Originally from Peoria, Illinois,
Will began riding at a young age
and trained on the East Coast for
a number of years before moving
to California. A USET veteran,
Will has ridden in a number of
World Cup Finals, and is the cur-
rent President of West Coast Ac-
tive Riders.
At 49 years of age, Will is cer-
tainly older than most Olympians
competing in other sports. How-
ever, equestrians have proved that
they are unique compared to other athletes in Olympic caliber sports.
Along with the fact that they must create a tangible connection with
an animal, they compete equally as men vs. women, and often ride
successfully well past the age most consider an athlete’s prime. It is
truly a passion for the sport that compels equestrians to continue to
ride to the best of their abilities, and Will certainly embodies that
drive.
Joining Will in Hong Kong are Beezie Madden, Laura Kraut, and
McLain Ward. The show jumping events begin on August 15th.
