COWRA HIGH SCHOOL NEWSLETTER WAGAMBIRRA DANCE GROUP NEWS
During the school holidays a small group of
Wagambirra Dance Group members performed at Yalbillinga Pre-School for their NAIDOC Open Day. To bolster their numbers, two ex-students and former group members joined in, as well as an upcoming member from the primary school. Thank you to Harry Lambshead for his assistance on the day. Last Thursday, 19 July, thirteen dancers travelled to Grenfell Public School for their NAIDOC Week activity day. Students from Henry Lawson High School and Caragabal Public School were also there to participate in a round of different activities.
In the morning Cowra High students conducted Aboriginal dance workshops (repeated with 8 different groups) and then gave a half hour performance to the whole school in the afternoon. All students were a credit to our school with their excellent behaviour, participation and dance teaching expertise. Thank you to Ms Klinger for driving the bus and assisting the group on this occasion.
