 FAREWELL RON SIMPSON

Popular In-Class Tutor, Ron Simpson, recently finished working at Cowra High. Ron has been a tireless worker and much respected staff member for many years. The Aboriginal students in particular will miss ‘Uncle Ron’. Both staff and students will miss Ron’s superb work in the classroom as a Norta Norta Program In-Class Tutor. Ron has been a member of the interagency Breakaway Committee and was the supervisor of many

boys

groups

involved in both the Breakaway and Adventure Programs. The Big Goanna in the school grounds was the result of Ron’s vision and hard work. However, the biggest loss will be felt by the students involved in the Wagambirra Dance Group. Ron has been a fantastic dance teacher and strong supporter of the group as well as their bus driver and music director (he knows which button to press on the CD player for each dance!). Ron has been happy to drive the dance group to places both near and far, often in his own time ~ at nights, on weekends and in school holidays. Some of these excursions have been for five or six days such as the NAISDA Dance Camp and Schools Spectacular. Ron will be working at schools in Yass and Boorowa which are closer to where he lives ~ their gain is Cowra High’s loss. Thank you Ron for the tremendous work you have done to assist the staff and students of our school. Ron will be greatly missed and we wish him all the best for the future.
