Page 2 EISTEDDFOD SUCCESS

During the Cowra Eisteddfod many students from Cowra High participated in the competition. The school enjoyed great success. As a school, Cowra High competed in two sections ~ one for Dance and the other for Music ~ both groups gained first place. The students give up a lot of their own time to rehearse and I would like to congratulate the students involved and thank their incredibly hard working and dedicated teachers Mr Douglas Hughes & Mrs Alison Buckley. I would also like to thank the parents who continue to help whenever the need arises, in particular Mrs Hindmarch & Mrs Nealon for their wonderful work in making the fascinators & flowers for the dancers.

These students are a credit to the school, their parents and themselves. The next vaccination clinic conducted by NSW Health will be held on Friday 20 July (Week 1, Term 3). On this occasion students from Years 7 & 10 will be able to receive their one dose booster of the Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis (Whooping Cough) vaccine. Year 7 students should have returned the consent card for this earlier in the year when the vaccination pack was sent home. Year 10 students have been issued with the Parent Information Kit containing the consent card this week and these are to be returned to roll class teachers by the end of Term 2 (Friday 29 June).

It should be noted that the booster of this vaccine from now on will be delivered to Year 7 students, but will also be offered to Year 10 for the next 3 years as they did not receive this important booster to protection when they were in Year 7. Any Year 10 student who did not receive the Parent Information Kit can collect one from the clerical office or Miss McAlister in the Humanities staffroom. Any newly arrived Year 7 students should also come and collect this kit.
