Booking with us is the business

D

etermined to transform business travel, easyJet offers an extensive network, useful services for travellers and importantly, low-cost

fares. And what’s more, easyJet is committed to working with business travel agencies to make sure booking with the airline is as easy as possible. When the airline was formed in 1995, its success was based on leisure travel, with consumers always enjoying low fares for their holidays via easyJet.com. But as easyJet has grown to become Europe’s fourth largest airline, more and more business travellers have also realised they can make big savings through low fares, yet still experience a caring and convenient service. And they can now make their bookings with you

via self-booking tools and GDS – Amadeus, Sabre and Galileo – under the handy U2 code. Bookings made with easyJet via GDS and other third-party channels have proved massively popular, with 15% of the airline’s business bookings now made this way. Booking via these methods reduces costs and the system is designed to make corporate travel buyers’ lives easier. The ‘Show Me The Value’ study carried out by UPS in 2008 compared booking via Amadeus with bookings made on easyJet’s website and found that bookings were 70% faster via GDS and making changes was 3.3 times faster. For more information, speak with your Sabre, Amadeus or Galileo representative to see how you could be saving your clients time and money by booking easyJet under the U2 code via GDS. There are several benefits for business travel agents from booking easyJet through the GDS too. It will naturally mean you are able to carry out more effective management information reporting, better tracking and policy compliance and be able to utilise improved back-office accounting.

Get in training

Part of easyJet’s focus on the needs of business travellers has been to launch a dedicated website at business.easyJet.com, which highlights the benefits of business travel with the airline. Agents will also find the site useful for tips on

why easyJet is great for business, with a dedicated section just for the trade. From here, agents can also follow easyJet’s comprehensive training to learn more about the airline, taking the new module that launched at the end of last year. The training is run by Online Travel Training in association with ttgbusinessand TTGKnowledge College and is one of the fastest growing and most popular training programmes that ttgbusiness/ Online Travel Training have ever launched. As well as finding out more about easyJet, it’s

also worth doing the training for another reason – for every successful attempt at the training, agents are entered into a prize draw to win free flights for a year!

Money-saving fares

Flying with easyJet for business can make big savings for your clients, in fact easyJet continues to offer the business traveller more competitive airfares on 7 out of 10 occasions. And on 55% of these, if UK-based travellers had flown with easyJet they could have saved more than £100 on their return trip. The findings come from an independent fare

study carried out in the UK with ITM Research using data from journeys made by travellers from companies across the UK, Germany and other European markets. And easyJet was also often found to be better value for domestic flights – on 43% of occasions, flying easyJet could have meant that travellers saved in excess of £100.

still careful to maintain high standards, with the flexibility, frequencies and fares passengers need, without the fuss. For example, the airline is well connected, flying

to more of the top 100 European routes than any other airline; in fact, 45 of the most popular routes in Europe are now served by easyJet. The network operates on more than 500 routes across 29 countries and not only is it the largest airline in the UK, but it’s Europe’s number one air transport network too.

Easy to use

With its philosophy of point-to-point fares, the flexibility to change to an earlier flight home for free and a small charge if you miss your flight, easyJet is transforming how business travel is conducted. There’s no limit on hand baggage weight and

travellers can check in online from the comfort of their office or home any time from 60 days to two hours before a flight’s scheduled departure. And easyJet also offers Speedy Boarding, which for a small fee means you will be called to board your flight first. It also qualifies travellers for dedicated check-in where available if they have hold luggage to drop off.

Customers of easyJet can also access business lounges at certain airports for a small fee so they can stay productive when on the go. And business travellers can avoid all the rushing-to-board nonsense, as regular travellers can buy an easyJet Plus! Card (costs from £109 annually and £49 for additional cards for colleagues) which means they can be among the first through the boarding gate every time. And don’t forget that ‘orange’ can also mean

‘green’ – because easyJet has such a modern fleet, this means those old traditional airlines emit 27% more CO2 per passenger per km than easyJet’s. The airline’s investment in more eco-efficient aircraft means it now boasts the youngest fleet in Europe too, with an average age of just 3.5 years.
