trade support Caribbean
There are many ways that
tourist boards and resort
operators can help you sell
Caribbean islands. It’s worth
getting in touch with the
individual boards and hotel
chains to explore the
possibilities in more detail
but here’s a few ideas to
show what’s possible
ANTIGUA
■ The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority
has a new website (visitantiguabarbuda.co.uk),
which features a page solely dedicated to the
trade where agents can learn about upcoming
educationals, training opportunities, as well as
trade competitions and incentives being offered
by the tourism authority.
■ Antigua also offers fam trips for agents. To
find out how you can be a part of the next fam
trip, contact joel.henry@aandbtourism.com
■ In addition, posters and goody bags are
available for agents. The bags contain branded
materials such as mugs, miniature rum, Susie’s
Hot Sauce, DVDs and occasionally sugar cake
and traditional sweets from the island.

BARBADOS
■ The Barbados Tourism Authority partners
with the travel trade to offer specials/incentives
to consumers travelling to Barbados. Its early
booking discounts every January and February
can save as much as £125 per person. Andrea
Lovering, product and marketing manager,
Help me sell
Kenwood Travel, says: “Barbados is one of the
most proactive tourist boards in the Caribbean
– its early booking offers are a fabulous driver
for business.”
