Roving Reader report
Hong Kong I
arrived in Hong Kong expecting a
fast-paced city that was likely to be
busy, dirty and almost unbearably hot
and humid. How wrong I was!
Yes, Hong Kong is a busy city, but it is
exceptionally clean and what immediately
goes up in
surprised me was how much slower the pace
was than I expected.
Unlike home, the people seem very chilled
out and, at 23C, the heat and humidity was
perfectly comfortable.
I had expected Hong Kong to be very
my world
built up, so I was also surprised by the lush
vegetation and scenery that surround the
city.
And the metro transport system and the
trains are really advanced compared with
the UK, which is a definite plus.

Staying at The Peninsula was a chance in
a lifetime. It has a great location by Victoria
Harbour and we had the most amazing
rooms and service despite the price of wine!
