Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing has reported
an 8% increase in visitor numbers to Dubai in 2008 to an
all-time high of 7.53 million, with UK and Ireland arrivals
rocketing by 13%. The upward trend has continued, albeit
more slowly, in the first quarter of 2009, with arrivals up 2%
to more than 9.5 million compared with that quarter in 2008.
