Four Seasons, Hong Kong
L50480L50480 LOCATION: The Four Seasons is right on
top of the Airport Express train station, where
you can check in for your flight, and next to the
International Financial Centre. You don’t get
more central than this. It’s also ten minutes’
walk to SoHo, the main bar district. 10/10
L50480L50480 FIRST IMPRESSION: If they gave awards
for great views, this hotel on Hong Kong’s
harbour would definitely score top marks. Since
the Four Seasons opened just over three years
ago, it has been the address for visitors. The
light, soaring spaces and staff who always know
your name, as well as the flowers and tasteful
art, push this hotel into a class of its own. 9/10
L50480L50480 ROOM: Insist on a harbour-facing room.
The higher you go in this 45-storey hotel, the
better the views get. Rooms are uncluttered with
sizable desks, leather chairs and varnished wood
burl, it’s all very tasteful. 9/10
L50480L50480 FACILITIES: 11 meeting rooms including a
Grand Ballroom. The Executive Club is a good
deal at £70 a day, with access to the 45th-floor
lounge. It also has stunning views and is a quiet
place for meetings, breakfast or cocktails. 9/10
L50480L50480 RESTAURANTS & BARS: The Cantonese
restaurant, Lung King Heen, has three Michelin
stars, while the French restaurant, Caprice, has
two. They are both very popular, so recommend
booking in advance. The Blue Bar is also a local
favourite, with live jazz at weekends. 10/10
