Zierer
Zierer is a traditional manufacturer of amusement rides based in Germany.
The company is most known for its Wave Swingers (such as the one
opened recently in Paulton's Park, UK) and all kinds of Roller Coasters,
from the smallest family coasters to large, LSM driven teenager coasters.
Zierer's philosophy is that parents should always be able to join their kids
in the rides, so Zierer prefers to call their product range Family Rides rather
than Kiddie Rides. But in their portfolio there are a number of rides that will
please also the smallest ones. One of their most recent introductions for
this particular age group is the Family Freefall Tower. This allows children
from 3 years old to ride (together with an adult). Recent installations
include Plopsaland Indoor (Belgium), Tivoli Gardens (Denmark), Faarup
Sommerland (Denmark), 360 degree Mall (Kuwait), Heide Park (Germany)
and many more.
Other popular rides with the children are the Kontiki, various carousels,
most remarkably their interactive carousel 'Nautilus' (Tivoli Gardens) and
'One Fish Two Fish' (Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure, Orlando) and
of course the range of Force Coasters, like the Force One in Sea World
San Antonio, the Force Two in Plopsaland Indoor and in Hellendoorn
(Netherlands), the Force Three in Sea World Orlando and the Force Five
with an added dark ride section in Legoland Germany, just to name a few.
2009 will see openings of their family rides in Liseberg (Sweden), Faarup
Sommerland and Djurs Sommerland (Denmark) and Lagoon Park (USA), The picture shows the Family Freefall Tower in Plopsaland Indoor
