Coach of the Year. It was Buck-Crockett’s third season at the helm of Florida International University’s beach program and she guided the Panthers to a program-best 20-3 overall record in 2015. The Panthers advanced to the quarterfinals of the AVCA team competition, finishing the season as one of the top teams in the country.

AVCA All-America First-Team selections for the Big 10 Conference, which was the most of any confer- ence. The University of Minnesota led the way with two selections, (Hannah Tapp and Daly Santana). The other Big 10 Conference players selected were Lauren Carlini (Wisconsin), Kadie Rolfzen (Nebraska), Taylor Sandbothe (Ohio State) and Haleigh Washington (Penn State).

NCAA championships for Shane Davis at Loyola Chicago before he accepted the head women’s coaching position at Northwestern University in Decem- ber. During a 12-year career at the helm of the Loyola University men’s volleyball program, Davis built a powerhouse in Rogers Park, leading the Ramblers to three straight national semifinals and back-to-back NCAA champi- onships in 2014 and 2015. He had a career record of 265-88 and won four Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Coach of the Year honors with the Ramblers.
First-place votes for Brigham Young University in the AVCA Men’s Division I-II preseason poll. The Cougars were ranked No. 1 in the poll and were followed by UC Irvine, Loyola Chicago, Long Beach State, UCLA, Ohio State, Hawaii, Lewis, UC Santa Barbara and Penn State in the top 10.
New sets of FIVB beach age-group world championships per gender, at U17, U19 and U21 levels. The U17 World Championships will take place in Brazil from July 12-17, the U19 World Championships in Larnaca, Cyprus from July 26-31 and the U21 in Lucerne, Switzerland from May 11-16.
