GP7B to join Athearn’s Genesis Geep line
HO—Among recently announced At- hearn Genesis-series GP7/GP9 mod- els is the unique GP7B owned by San- ta Fe. This booster GP7 is a follow-up to the recently produced GP9B diesel model. As-delivered blue-and-yellow “bookend”-scheme GP7Bs lettered for Santa Fe will be offered in two road numbers. Matching Santa Fe GP7s in two road numbers are also planned for this new production. Athearn’s other coming Genesis
Geeps will include Erie GP7s, plus Rio Grande and Western Maryland GP9s. Standard DC models with

Athearn’s QuikPlug-technology for easy conversion to Digital Com- mand Control (DCC) will retail for $189.95. Models with factory-in- stalled DCC and SoundTraxx’s Tsu- nami sound systems run $289.95 each. Undecorated GP7s in multi- ple production phases are planned for custom painting projects. The release has a late October delivery date announced by Athearn.
