A new range of high reliability, high performance, DIN rail power supplies have been added to Ideal Power’s product portfolio. Two product families are available: The DR (P) series provides output power of 30W, 45W, 60W, 75W, 120W, 240W, 480W; and the MDR Series with 10W, 20W, 40W, 60W and 100W outputs. According to the company,
applications for the new power supplies include building and industrial automation, process control and instrumentation. The range extends from 12W up to 480W and conforms to EN 60947-1, EN 60947- 5-1 & EN 60950-1 (DR Series only). All models have a one year warranty and high efficiency up to 80% (based on the DR-45-24 model). The company’s standard range of
DIN Rail PSUs provides output power from 30W to 240W, as well as an MDR range. Standard products are available from stock, and customer specific requirements can be sourced. Of additional benefit, all Ideal

In addition, analysis is made more efficient using SolidWorks thanks to: • Design Simulation Tools – offering greater control and insight over operation sequencing, loads, part movements, forces needed and mesh quality, resulting in reliable performance data.
• Flatten - quickly and easily flatten the most complex geometry for manufacturing, easily identify strains induced when forming shapes back onto 3D surfaces, and introduce relief cuts for the flat pattern to alleviate excessive stretch/compression. Users can also communicate, collaborate and work concurrently across teams, disciplines, customers, and vendors with mechatronic design, concurrent design, and streamlined electrical/mechanical design. Benefits here include Mate Controller which enables users to easily and intuitively create and animate complicated assembly motion with calculation, control, and visualization features; and eDrawings to improve collaboration and communication of designs throughout product development by consistently measuring designs, navigating between documents and more accurately visualizing models. With the new software it is also possible to create more detailed outputs for manufacturing and
shorten product development to manufacture while saving time and reducing errors, using: • SolidWorks Model Based Definition Enhancements – quickly define, organise and publish manufacturing specifications directly in 3D to avoid 2D drawing ambiguity and downstream discrepancies.

STAINLESS STEEL DISTRIBUTION BOX MEETS FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY DEMANDS
Within the food and beverage industry, machine components and installations need to be easy to clean and therefore have to withstand high pressure washdown and aggressive cleaning agents. Meeting the demands, Murrelektronik’s new stainless steel MVP12 Steel distribution box is said to provide the solution to implement a decentralized approach. The boxes feature a closed stainless steel housing and threaded sleeves made of V4A stainless steel, ensuring an IP69K rating.
