We look ahead to the Compounding World Asia 2015 conference, previewing the presentations that are lined up for the third day of this new event, which takes place in Singapore in October

Compounding World Asia 2015: focus on process optimization

Compounding World magazine and Applied Market Information (AMI) will host the fi rst Compounding World Asia conference in Singapore on 6-8 October 2015. The event follows the considerable success of the Com- pounding World Forum in the USA and the Compound- ing World Congress in Germany. The event is attracting lots of interest with 70% of

places already taken. Attendees are coming from across Asia, including key industry players from China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Further delegates are travelling from Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA to make up a very international audience. Focusing on the latest market and technology trends

for technical compounders, the conference will cover many of Compounding World magazine’s most popular themes in a live format. This will provide a rare opportunity for the Asian industry to learn fi rst-hand about these important developments, as well as discussing them with key players from throughout the plastics supply chain. The packed conference programme features 24

expert speakers, including senior managers from leading global compounders, as well as innovative raw materials suppliers and machinery manufacturers. The fi rst day of the conference will focus on market

trends, business strategies and legislative issues. Then the latest developments in polymers, additives and applications will be covered in detail on day two of the conference. On the third and fi nal day, the focus will shift to processing technologies with a series of practical talks on how to get the most from compound- ing lines. Here we are previewing the presentations that are scheduled for the third day of the event. The fi rst day of the conference, which features

regional leaders from major compounders such as PolyOne, Teknor Apex, A. Schulman and Tipco, was previewed in the June issue of Compounding World

last month’s magazine. It includes talks on a range of hot topics, such as long-fi bre thermoplastics, natural fi bres, bioplastics, anti-counterfeiting technologies, antimicrobials, 3D printing materials, fl ame retardants, smart packaging, plus electrically-conductive and thermally-conductive compounds. You can read the preview at http://bit.ly/CWAday2. Next month we will preview the conference exhibi- tion. Companies that have already booked their exhibition spaces include: CPM Century Extrusion/Ruiya Extrusion; Cray Valley; ExxonMobil; ICL Industrial Products; KraussMaffei Berstorff; Lehvoss (Shanghai); Maag Automatik; Quatek; Reduction Engineering; Schenck Process; Shanghai Sonner Machinery; and Steer. A very limited number of exhibition spaces are still available on a fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis. For
