Recent tests with short-medium fi bre reinforced


compounds showed that the TriVolution was able to process fi bres around 6 to 25 mm long with zero discernible fi bre length attrition. “We’ve run both glass fi bre and carbon fi bres into various resin matrices. The increased performance in the part as a result of the fi bre length has forced our customers to reformulate for value as they attain improved physical properties,” Lazorchak said.


B&P has also been running conductive compounds and fi nding that the dispersion attainable in a struc-


tured carbon black is “excellent and executed without destruction of the materials or degradation as is typically experienced under the high shear/heat history of the twin screw.”
