Additive integration


EOS has announced a strategic cooperation agreement with GF Machining Solutions aimed at integrating additive and traditional technologies for production of moulds. The decision to cooper-

German machine sales to break €7bn barrier


Germany’s plastics and rubber machinery makers are predicting a 4% increase in sales for this year to take the


total production value beyond €7bn for the first time. “The association predicted


4% growth for 2015 back in October last year. The figures for the last six months have confirmed that forecast,” said Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association. Reifenhäuser said 2014 data


showed the year ended with output 1.6% lower than 2013 and exports at around the previous year’s level. The association is now forecasting exports sales to grow by 4% this year and a further 2% in 2016. “At present things seem to


have bottomed out in India and an upturn is in sight. Brazil and Mexico have also shown signs of recovery in the last few months,” said Thorsten Kühmann, managing director of the association.
