❙ US-based Alexandria Industries has upped capacity at its plant at Wheaton in Minnesota with the addition of three E-Series injection moulding machines manufactured by TMC Technology of Taiwan. The company says the new machines will allow it to produce parts more quickly and to a higher level of precision.

❙ Austrian packaging group Greiner is growing its position in the Turkish market with the acquisition of a 51% stake in Teknik Plastik and Teknik IML from the Ozata Group. The €500m company said the move will make it the leading player in rigid plastics packaging for the dairy products sector in the country. It said the investment also marks a first step towards expanding its packaging activities beyond Europe. The newly acquired companies employ around 270 people.

❙ Bemis Company is to buy the rigid plastic packaging business of Brazil-based Emplal Participações for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition includes two Emplal manufacturing opera- tions in Brazil which generated sales in 2014 of around $75m. Bemis said the deal will be concluded this year, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

Rosti Group has expanded its international injection moulding capabilities by buying Polish company Bianor, which offers moulding and assembly solutions to manufacturers of small appliances and electrical items.
Bianor operates two
factories – its headquarters operation at Bialystok close to Warsaw in Poland and a smaller plant at Ploiesti in Romaina. Combined, the two facilities comprise 20,000m2
manufacturing space with an additional 12,000m2
of
warehousing. Bianor operates more than 80 injection moulding machines ranging from 50 to 1,200 tonnes. Rosti acquired the company
for an undisclosed sum from the Dutch-German private equity firm Nimbus Invest- ments, which has owned the business for the past eight years. The company said Bianor will be incorporated into the European division of the Rosti Group, which is led by Executive VP and Deputy CEO Mr Barry Coughlan. “This will enhance our

Swedish investment group Nordstjernan, has 10 manu- facturing site located across Europe and Asia, including one in Bialystok in Poland. The company employs 3,400 people and operates more than 550 moulding machines ranging to 2,700 tonnes. ❙

SHI Demag ramps up in China
Sumitomo SHI Demag opened its newly expanded 27,000m2 machinery manufacturing facility at Ningbo in China this month. The Demag Plastics Machinery (Ningbo) operation was originally set up in 1998 and has, since then, produced almost 10,000 moulding machines. The newly expanded

operation expands annual capacity to around 1,500 machines, according to the company. At the present time, it is
producing Systec C hydraulic machines with clamping forces from 50 to 1,000 tonnes. Automation solutions and turnkey systems are engi- neered with system partners
such as Sepro, MAI or Kebo. “China is and remains the
largest international market for injection moulding machines. Our investment in a new facility is the cornerstone for further growth,” said Sumitomo SHI Demag Managing Director and Chief Sales Officer Gerd Liebig. ❙
