CESSNA CELEBRATES ROLL OUT OF FIRST PRODUCTION CITATION LATITUDE

Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company, celebrated the roll out of the fi rst production Citation Latitude at the company’s Wichita, KS manufacturing facility on January 29, just three years since being announced to the market. The assembly of the Latitude features a variety of technological advancements including the use of new automated robotics and ergonomically friendly tooling stations. Today’s event is the latest in the aircraft’s progression toward type certifi cation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is expected in the second quarter of this year. “Our product investments extend beyond the design and

performance features of the aircraft with innovations in our manufacturing processes,” says Scott Ernest, president and CEO. “The Citation Latitude team has redefi ned what customers should expect from a business aircraft in this segment, while also redefi ning the aircraft build process.” The Citation Latitude certifi cation program, which includes four fl ying aircraft, has accumulated 500 fl ights and 1,200 hours to date. The fi rst fully-confi gured aircraft made its public debut at last fall’s National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Convention & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida and has since been touring the country for customer demonstration fl ights.

SHANNON AEROSPACE IS NOW LUFTHANSA TECHNIK SHANNON

The Irish facility operated by Lufthansa Technik as part of its European aircraft overhaul network is now called Lufthansa Technik Shannon. The renaming of the company, which is located at Shannon Airport in western Ireland, is not yet visible everywhere and will be implemented step by step over the coming months. It will not entail any changes for customers in their current contracts, addresses or contact partners. Lufthansa Technik Shannon specializes in the overhaul
