e deal with many acronyms in our industry. An A&P might install an STC on a customer’s SR22 at an

MRO. We regularly deal with the FAA, NTSB, TSA, OSHA and other federal agencies. Then there are the industry groups and associations — EAA, AOPA, AEA, ARSA and NBAA to name a few. It’s like an alphabet soup! If you are having some alphabet soup, there are some letters you should consider including: AMC and NBAA MMC.

AMC The Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) is where aviation maintenance professionals compete against each other in head-to-head competition. This year’s AMC will take place in conjunction with MRO Americas April 14-16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. AMC is a venue for teams of certificated

aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs), aircraft maintenance engineers (AMEs) and students enrolled in either FAA, EASA, CASA or equivalently-authorized schools as well as personnel of any country’s Armed Forces that are involved in the aircraft maintenance and spacecraft maintenance field. Uncertificated aircraft technicians and aircraft engineers employed with a MRO/OEM company are also eligible to compete. AMC is an opportunity for skilled aviation maintenance professionals to test their combined abilities against those of their peers. AMC provides a stage to highlight the knowledge, skill and integrity that is the foundation of today’s and tomorrow’s AMTs and AMEs.

AMC consists of 16 scheduled events in six competition categories: • Commercial aviation • General aviation • Space

• School • Military • MRO/OEM

If you have never attended an AMC, we encourage you to do so. It is fun to watch the teams compete to see who is the best of the best. If you can’t attend this year, don’t fret —

D.O.M. magazine will cover this year’s event and report on it in a future issue. If you would like more information on AMC, visit aerospacemaintenancecompetition.com.

NBAA MMC D.O.M. magazine’s mission is to provide quality editorial that helps aviation maintenance professionals become better leaders and managers. In case you didn’t know, there is an annual conference that provides three days of sessions with a similar focus. The National Business Aviation Association’s Maintenance Management Conference (NBAA MMC) is an event that offers sessions that offer focused information for today’s and tomorrow’s leaders and managers. This year’s conference (MMC2015) will be held May 5-7 in Portland, OR. If you want to increase your knowledge,

network with a group of your maintenance professional peers and learn from top-notch presenters, MMC2015 is for you! No other conference or convention offers the same opportunity to learn how to excel in your career. The D.O.M. team will be exhibiting at MMC2015. If you are there, be sure to stop by and say hi.
