Will Steni’s 40-year warranty colour your thinking? W
ith an industry-leading 40-year warranty now standard on every Steni cladding panel – plus many more new developments in the pipeline – there’s more reason than ever to specify them, according to Steni UK’s Ian Anderson. For architects looking to create a modern landmark, Steni Colour panels offers stunning possibilities. But now it offers another type of landmark within the construction industry: a 40- year warranty. With their panels proven for almost 50 years in Scandinavian countries it’s not surprising, says Steni UK’s Managing Director, Ian Anderson: “Our rainscreen cladding panels are resistant to anything the UK climate can throw at them, and are designed to last more than 60 years without loss of functional effectiveness – that’s why we can offer a 40-year warranty”.
Such a comprehensive warranty will seriously reduce lifecycle maintenance costs for any project of course – but that’s not the only way specifying Steni saves money. On-site, a Steni system can be fitted in all weathers to reduce costly delays and has the advantage of minimal mess and virtually no wastage. That’s because all the panels are cut to size before they leave the factory – a key advantage for projects such as the striking Creative Media Centre at the MCE Academy in York.
The £3 million building’s distinctive multicoloured façade combined seven different colours from rich red to light yellow. Architect Will Jones explained why Steni was the perfect choice: “Given the number of colours used, the sheer scale of the operation and the accuracy required would have made it impossible for the panels to have been cut anywhere but the factory.” And now, that façade is guaranteed to stay looking good for years to come too. According to Ian Anderson, Steni’s new warranties are just the start. “We’re constantly looking to use technology to improve our products and services, and we’ve a number of exciting developments coming on-stream in the near future – so architects and specifiers will have even more reason to choose Steni.”
