While the South is dominating the attention of developers, it seems the North is not far behind, with Scotland making the biggest percentage gains for planning applications
PLANNING NUMBER OF PLANNINGAPPS SCOTTISH GAINS
London and the South East are still the hot focus of developers’ attention, but London’s share of the UK’s planning applications has dropped over the past three years. Scotland made the biggest percentage gains and in the year to the end of August 2014 it took 11% of all UK applications.

QUIET IN THE EAST Split per capita and planning applications per 1,000 people, the South East still takes the lion’s share at 358, but the East Midlands is close behind at 354. The East of England scores lowest at 117 applications per 1,000 people in the year to the end of August 2014.
