American to cruise along the length of Mississippi American Cruise Lines is introducing a 22-day cruise that travels the entire length of the Mississippi. The cruise will be on the 150-passenger American Eagle, due to launch in spring, from New Orleans to St Paul, Minnesota.

Kuoni is introducing river cruises after partnering with luxury river cruise line APT. The operator is offering a
selection of river cruises as part of its new Journeys brochure and believes the crossover from touring to river cruises will be an attractive proposition to potential customers. Itineraries include cruises from
Amsterdam to Budapest on the Danube and sailings on the Rhone, but Kuoni will be offering all of APT’s luxury river cruise products, including its worldwide- offering such as the Mekong and the Lower Ganges. Kuoni will also sell the
Travelmarvel by APT cruises, the company’s premium offering. Claire Reynolds, commercial
and product manager for Kuoni, said: “Going into river cruising was a natural progression for us. We

were obviously aware it is a rapidly growing market and we believe it complements our touring product really well. “APT’s product is well suited to our client base and I think we will see a crossover from those who book escorted touring holidays.” Reynolds said Kuoni had no
target in mind for the return they
would like to see from the new river cruise products, but said the operator saw the opportunity as “incremental growth”. “This a great way to see Europe
and we’ve seen the standard of touring available on APT’s river cruises and it’s very strong and of a high standard,” said.

The ship’s Crystal Plaza and Crystal Cove Bar (pictured) has had a refit, while a new outdoor Fitness Garden has been added, which spans three decks at the back of the ship.
