omen have long been the focus for many artists, dating back hundreds of years. The female form has captivated the minds of artists the world over and has proven to be quite the muse, whether it is in a song, a painting, or a sculpture. Grace, mystery, raw beauty, eyes that smile, sensuality, innocence, strength - these are all traits that come through the works of art to tell a story without words. One such storyteller is Exclusive Collections’ artist Asencio. The majority of his inspiration stems from the admiration he has for his loved ones. Those closest to him are all strong, beautiful women.

of these relationships, inspiration comes from other directions as well. “It’s always different,” he said. “A lot of times when I travel I get a lot of influence from different cultures or different people.”

Although he is not one to depict his travels literally, the energy or color palette from his journeys will often make their way into his art. The inspiration starts to flow while in his studio and the work just starts to feed on itself in an organic process — that process including a lot of breaks and at times, more analyzing than actual painting. More than a process, it is a dialogue that takes place between the artist and his art.
