EDITOR’S CHOICE PRODUCTS MCU FOR MOTOR CONTROL
A new microcontroller has been introduced by Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE). The latest TMPM037FWUG MCU is designed for motor control applications in equipment such as multifunction printers (MFPs), printers, consumer electronics, digital equipment and factory automation.
This latest device from the company comes in an LQFP64
package measuring just 10mm by 10mm, pin pitch 0.5mm. It has a low pin count of just 64 pins. It also integrates an 8-channel 10-bit A/D converter and a 10-channel 16-bit timer with a Programmable Pulse Generator (PPG). The microcontroller features a 6-channel serial interface (5 channel SIO/UART, 1 channel I2
C), which eliminates the need for
interface extension ICs and also contributes to lower manufacturing cost. It also has a bit-band processing function that supports access and control of specific bits. This increases bit manipulation efficiency and allows optimisation of the product’s small-capacity flash memory that comprises 128Kbytes NAND Flash and 16 Kbytes SRAM. This device is designed to improve efficiency and reduce
development costs as development tools for medium and large systems can be shared. The M0 core has a maximum operating frequency of 20MHz and an operating voltage range of 2.3V to 3.6V.

6000W ELECTRONIC LOAD
The new high Voltage EL9718E-M1 1000Volt 6KW electronic load from Intepro Systems has been developed for high Voltage applications. It has an input rating of 0-1000Volts dc at 0-120 Amps and is capable of sinking 6000 Watts of input power. All connections can be found at the rear of the unit and can be easily enclosed for safety; an essential feature when
using the unit as a bench top instrument or if integrated into a complete test system cabinet. As with all the EL97 series loads each unit comes with its own
specially written remote software that is easily loaded on to a windows 7 PC which may then control the load via the USB interface module. Once connected to the PC all the functions of the load’s front panel are then clearly displayed on the computer monitor. The load can be controlled using the interactive PC software or instantly handed back over to the load’s own front panel. In both cases the PC monitor will clearly display the activity the load is performing. The new electronic load offers six modes of operation (CC, CR,
CV, CC+CV, CR+CV) with fast rise-times and features dual range 16-bit resolution measurements with the accuracy of a digital multi-meter and the convenience of a single connection.
