A
n easy-to-use temperature profiling solution that helps electronics manufacturers achieve best efficiency and repeatability in reflow processes, the Datapaq Surveyor is designed specifically to detect long-term trends in oven performance. Based on these data, users can make
about oven maintenance and adjustments. The system, which is based on the class-leading Q18 data logger and a thermal barrier, is suitable for regular measurement runs. The Surveyor frame holds six thermocouples. The system is simply placed on the conveyor or edge rails and passes through the process, recording temperature data across the width and length of the oven. When the system exits the oven, the data is downloaded to the Surveyor software which will give an immediate pass/fail indication as well as conduct detailed data analysis to show exactly where any process variation is occurring.

OLEC has launched its new technoPLUS IP66 plastic enclosures range which is manufactured from UV-stable ASA LURAN so it does not degrade in sunlight. The range features a unique optional mast/pole attachment – enabling it to be installed quickly and easily on lampposts, poles or communications masts. Each enclosure is pre- moulded with screw ports at the rear for fitting the mast attachment so no machining is needed. Hinged lid trims hide all the mounting and fixing screws for added security and superior weather protection. The lid is recessed to enable accurate assembly of a membrane keypad or label. Retaining straps hold the lid in place. The enclosure can be installed with the lid closed, helping to protect any fragile electronics inside. Five standard sizes are available ranging from 130 x 90 x 70 mm to 270 x 170 x 90 mm. All models are fully insulated (VDE 0100).

Hamamatsu New Compact CMOS Linear Image Sensor
amamatsu Photonics introduce a new compact CMOS linear image sensor; the S12443, designed for barcode readers, encoders, position detection and image reading applications. Designed for high volume quantities due to the plastic package, very low cost is achieved.

The S12443 boasts a 2496 pixel long photosensitive area in a package which is only 22.9 mm in length. Each pixel is vertically long at 7 x 125 um, with a total photosensitive area length of 17.472 mm.
CMOS image sensors have an ideal feature in low power consumption and, in the case of the
S12443, it only requires a supply of 3.3 V. Due to a very small input terminal capacitance of only 5 pF, a high-speed data rate of 10 MHz is achieved. With the use of a built-in timing generator, operation is simply done with only start and clock pulse inputs.
Being a CMOS sensor, the S12443 is small in size and has more highly integrated signal processing
circuits. This yields better cost efficiency and extends its applications in the industrial equipment field. Hamamatsu
