succeed at your current company?

My marketing background has taught me to constantly look at things from a customer perspective so we are always refining our customer journey and product experience. Previous experience has taught me you must develop products that solve customer pain points.

CEO?

A great team is vital. You need people you can trust, who take ownership, are ambitious and most importantly who can tell it like it is.

What lessons have you learned as a CEO?

Saying less is more, ask the right questions and acknowledge if you are

not in control of an issue and get in control quickly.

To have integrity, purpose and a great team.

to pursue. This becomes easier the clearer the strategic vision.

Keeping sight of the goals we are all aiming to achieve.

How do you manage the relationship

Board of Directors?

We are in constant contact, so they are pretty close to the business and know our challenges.

They are very supportive and I seek their advice regularly on all sorts of areas.

Integrity, drive, great communication and ability to quickly establish rapport at all levels.

How do you manage organizational

politics,

and conflicting personalities, interests, and views?

By making sure everyone has a voice, is aligned in what we are doing and where we are going all the time and distilling key values of integrity and ownership into the team. Sounds simple but its effective.

What advice do you give to rising CEOs?

For a technology business, make online / digital marketing a core competency, understand your CAC (customer acquisition cost) payback period and provide great service as well as great software.

Do you admire another CEO or a leader (current or historical)? Why?

I’ve been fortunate to have worked with a few really good CEOs whom I’ve learned a lot from and who were fantastic at articulating their vision across the organisation and following up with tremendous amount of drive and energy. Seth Godin is a leader I admire most today he is full of great insights about business and marketing.

environment?

By building technology that solves business pain points and maximising digital marketing.

Growing bigger and faster.

What advice would you give to policy makers to

help the economy and your business?

Its predictable but its one of the biggest hurdles to economic growth, access to the right kind of finance on the right terms for SMEs.

lessons that other CEOs might relate to?

Never go against your gut, remain genuine and know your values and stick to them.
