WE WORK HARD at ASTA to bring the travel industry a little closer together. We provide a platform to learn, share, connect and network with travel professionals in more than 120 countries. Yet despite the many different business models of our members, a common theme has surfaced — the need to find qualified candidates to fill much-needed positions. Many ASTA members are experiencing their


best period in several years and are looking to hire, but can’t seem to find qualified agents or aspiring new talent to add to their team. Tis is where ASTA steps in, playing the


role of matchmaker. Check out ASTA’s newest resource, the ASTA Career Center. Our new and improved employment service, complete with an interactive job board and resource center, is specifically designed for the entire travel

approach to helping agency owners find qualified professionals. Many employers and job seekers today are discovering the advantages of shopping online for industry jobs and qualified candidates to fill them. But the one-size-fits-all approach of the mega job boards may not be the best way to find what you’re looking for. ASTA’s Career Center will offer employers targeted access to quality industry professionals, along with quick and easy job posting and online job activity reports. Job seeking professionals can make sure their


resumes are seen by those in the industry who matter most. ASTA’s Career Center will offer job seekers free and confidential resume posting, automated weekly email notification of job listings, and the ability to save jobs for later review. n HOW DO I UPDATE MY PROFILE? ASTA makes it easy for members to tell their story to consumers and industry professionals through offering members a free listing on its leading consumer website, travelsense.org. The website receives more than 50,000 unique visitors a month. This is why it’s of the utmost importance that members keep their information fresh and up-to-date. Because TravelSense profiles and ASTA accounts are synced, members can easily modify their information at any time by logging into asta.org. Once logged in, simply click on ‘My Profile’ in the upper right-hand corner of the page and navigate to ‘Edit Profile’ or ‘Edit Specializations’ to get started. Remember that including links to websites and social media networks, as well as details about business type, specialties, destinations and keywords, is a great way to better internet searchability. ASTA encourages members to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to promote their business.


n HOW DO I OBTAIN MY ASTA CERTIFICATE? ASTA members can download their official Membership Certificate and Member ID Card by logging into their profile on asta.org. The process is easy. Once logged in, simply click on ‘My Profile’ in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The website will redirect members to their profile, where they will see a set of two links that state ‘Download Member Certificate’ and ‘Download Member Identification’. We encourage members to print and frame the ASTA certificate. These documents are a great resource for ASTA’s international and domestic members to post in their agencies and have ready for clients to see. Certification such as this adds credibility that will give you a competitive edge. Feel free to also laminate the pocket-sized identification card which can be presented at a moment’s notice to consumers.
