Law Society Board and Committee Vacancies
The Law Society of England and Wales is the independent professional body, established for solicitors in 1825, that works globally to support and represent its 166,000 members, promoting the highest professional standards and the rule of law.
The Law Society is run by its Council. Boards of the Council are supported by committees which help make and implement policy on particular areas of law.
The Law Society is looking for exceptional solicitors to become Committee and Board members. If you would like to apply for any of the vacancies below, we’d love to hear from you! We need your skills, experience, connections, enthusiasm and knowledge of your particular area of law. In exchange, you will gain real policy making experience . Travel and subsistence expenses and an annual incidental expenses allowance of £626 are paid.
The Membership Board is currently looking to appoint to two seats for co-opted members to complement the background, skills and experience of existing members. The Board plays a key role in overseeing the management of the Law Society’s relationships with the profession at large and the services offered by the Society.
The Board is particularly interested in practitioners from City firms, in-house counsel, or those with knowledge of practice in Wales.
If you are interested in applying for either of the Membership Board co-opted seats, please submit a 250 word statement to
