She is also sponsored by the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club, based out of San Marino, Calif. “Wrestling will always be a family thing. I will always be trained and coached by my father,” Cataline said. “As you saw, I wore my Cataline’s Wildcats singlet in the [U.S. Open] finals. It means everything to me to have the support of my family.” While training for her career on the mat Cataline maintains a full-time job, working security, to provide for herself and her two children.
On May 30-June 1, Cataline will seek her first World Team Trials title in Madison, Wis.
Having won the 2014 U.S. Open, Cataline automatically advances to the best-of-3 finals series where she will face the winner of the challenge tournament for a spot on the 2014 World Championships roster.
“I missed wrestling and I wanted to come back, and I wasn’t going to come back unless I would be on top. Seeing my son take an interest in wrestling really motivated me to make a return and be an inspiration to him.”
