February 20, The Brewery, London, 6pm-1am Dress code: Black tie
The UK rail industry’s most prestigious annual event
UKRIA is the must-attend event in the country’s rail industry calendar, as some 600 people prepare to recognise the hard work and achievement of organisations, teams and individuals working tirelessly to deliver an effi cient and robust rail network – which continues to be one of the safest in Europe.
There have been a staggering 239 entries submitted across the 18 categories of the inaugural UK Rail Industry Awards – you can fi nd the full shortlist, and read more about the companies and projects that have managed to become fi nalists, on pages 24-27.
The evening also affords those attending the opportunity to network with industry leaders whilst being wined and dined by Britain’s rail industry media leader – Rail Technology Magazine. The black tie event kicks off with a champagne reception from 6pm.
Aside from the dinner and the awards, there will also be a keynote address from Network Rail’s chairman, Richard Parry-Jones, entertainment from Alex Crow, a charity casino and after-party.
The event also looks forward to the future workforce of the UK rail industry, because it is a fundraising spectacular for the UK Rail Industry Training Trust, a charity inspiring 12 to 19-year-olds to pursue the range of fascinating career opportunities in rail.
Take a look at the following pages to fi nd out more about the companies and organisations helping to make UKRIA happen. We look forward to seeing you at The Brewery on February 20 – and for our readers who are not attending on the night, there will be a full round-up and review, plus interviews with the winners, in the February/March edition of RTM.

One of the challenges he has set the industry is to improve the reliability of asset – to think differently and come up with new designs, rather than relying on the way things have always been done. He has often said that Network Rail’s door is open for innovative suppliers – and the companies shortlisted for the UK Rail Industry Awards are excellent examples of just such innovation.
Parry-Jones, one of the most important people in the industry, is sure to give a fascinating speech.
