ABC “Our order book is almost full,” reports new ABC Rides sales support officer Patrick Marx, adding that the USA and China look like promising

potential markets for the Swiss manufacturer right now. The company has

apparently had a lot of

interest in its freefall tower with 4D-syle seat effects following the launch last summer of Knights Rider Tower at Fantasiana in Austria. But first there are a bunch of new water rides to deliver in 2014. Hello Kitty Park, opening soon near Shanghai, will feature a River Splash ride with a vertical lift, Lotte World in Seoul, South Korea, is getting a mini flume. The ride will be built over four storeys of the indoor theme park and feature custom-designed boats. An indoor boat ride will also open at a major Singapore park (you can probably guess which one). A venue to be confirmed in San Francisco will open an ABC Raft Race. Similar to the ride system installed by the company at the Berlin Dungeon, it will feature a rocking boat and added special effects. In Europe, Knuthenborg Safaripark in Denmark is in line for the

country’s highest, longest and steepest flume ride, while Germany’s Traumland Baerenhoehle is set to take delivery of an mini flume. Two ABC tractor rides are also heading for Germany.

KMG After a “very good show” at IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, KMG has secured plenty of orders for rides from US customers as a result of its partnership with Rides 4-U. Speed propeller rides will be heading in 2014 to east coast showman Bobby DeSefano, trading as Dreamland Amusements, Martin’s Fantasy Island in New York, and an order is pending for carnival operator Mike Newton. At February’s IISF exhibition in Gibtown, Florida, KMG will exhibit a Freak Out swing ride with new LED seat lighting, providing a constantly changing display of lights and text. The ride will be delivered after the event to a US customer. New European deliveries in 2014 from the Dutch manufacturer include Speed propeller rides for Alexander Zinnecker and Bethel Thelen in Germany, the latter themed as Jekkyl & Hyde, and an Inversion for Hugo’s Tivoli in Norway. A new-style Discovery (Top Spin-style ride) with suspended seats is heading for a customer in Australia. Looking further ahead, an XXL giant swing ride is destined in early 2015 for Playland at the Pacific National Exposition in, Vancouver, Canada. KMG is also working on a brand new ride for 2016. Described as the “big brother of Inversion” it will be a 24-seater ride travelling 65m high, versus the 12 seats and 24m on the standard Inversion. Travelling on four trailers, the ride has been sold to an established KMG customer in Europe.
