MANUFACTURER NEWS Zierer

Intamin

The German ride manufacturer Zierer reports that its order book is filled with projects due for delivery in 2014.

Among the attractions Zierer is building are

four Wave Swingers, including a 48-seater version for Morey’s Piers in New Jersey, 40-

seaters for Seoul Grand Children’s Park in South Korea and an unnamed German park, plus and an apple tree-themed version for an unnamed park in China. The latter three are also in line for a Kontiki rocking raft ride. Four Zierer Jet Ski rides (as pictured above) are in fabrication, for an OCT- operated park in China, OK Corral in France and unidentified parks in Turkey and China. A Family Freefall Tower is headed to Germany’s Europa- Park as part of its Arthur attraction, while a second unit is going to another unnamed German park. Both a Force 190 and an Elevated Seating Coaster will be delivered to a park in Turkey. Refurbished Tivoli Coasters are destined for Jaya Ancol, Indonesia, and Plopsaland de Panne, Belgium.

Vekoma

In 2014 the Dutch manufacturer will deliver a custom-designed Junior Coaster to Respublica Mall, Kiev, Ukraine; Suspended Family Coasters to Seoul Children’s Grand Prix, South Korea, and Lavina Mall, Kiev. In China, the Fantawild group continues to be a good customer, ordering Boomerang coasters for its parks in Zhuzhou, Wuhu and Jinan. In 2015, Vekoma is scheduled to deliver a

Mine Train and an 80-person Mad House to Hotgo Park, Fushun, China, and both a

custom-designed Launch Coaster and custom-designed Suspended Family Coaster the year after. In Berjaya outside Beijing, a custom Motorbike Launch Coaster and Dive Pretzel Coaster will open 2015. In the meantime, 2014 sees the opening of an I-Ride panoramic flight simulator at Sochi Park, Russia and a V-Ride theatre simulator and a D-Ride interactive Dark Ride at Yumble, Roermond, The Netherlands (see last issue). And while no one will talk about it officially, it is believed that Vekoma is presently putting the finishing touches to The Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride, opening this spring at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Florida.

“We just opened our Impulse Coaster at Victory Kingdom in China,” reports Intamin's Sascha Czibulka. “It’s 57 metres [187ft] high, U-shaped and LSM powered. Riders sit on either side of the track, in pairs back-to-back, a total of 32 passengers.”

The Swiss coaster company is also about to open another LSM

launch coaster 47 metres (154ft) high, 660 metres (2,165ft) long at Vialand, Istanbul, Turkey, and many more projects are in the works, including three large scale attractions in Central Florida. “Next year we’ll see many new rides opening in Western Europe, China, South America and the US,” details Czibulka. “Right now we’re talking to clients about projects to open in 2016 and beyond. There will be some large-scale signature rollercoasters to open in 2015. We’ll be supplying Ferris wheels, observation and freefall towers, and water rides in addition to more rollercoasters.”
