Houlden Bridal Design Competition
HOULDEN proudly announces the launch of The Bridal Design of the Year competition at Jewellery and Watch Birmingham 2014.
Houlden, a Premium Consortium, professionally connected within the jewellery and watch market in the UK and Ireland, believes in the increasing value and importance of the diamond bridal market. This, together with Houlden’s passion for supporting design talent, is the basis for this great industry initiative.
The competition was open to all designers and manufacturers who are exhibiting at Jewellery and Watch Birmingham in February giving everyone a great chance to show off their skills. The challenge was to create an engagement ring and wedding band combination, set with diamonds. Designs in CAD or handdrawn formats were submitted to Houlden with finalists chosen at the end of December in time for the finalists to have their designs made up for the show.
There were two categories, with five finalists in each - all of which will be exhibited in pride of place at the shows centre stage catwalk. Running up to the show, the designs were shown on Houlden’s and Jewellery & Watch Birmingham’s social media sites, helping to get public support and opinions on the designs. Monday 3rd February will see the winner announced by Stuart Laing CEO of the Holden Group at 4pm.
This is a wonderful opportunity for designers in today’s market, to get a great deal of exposure. Not only are designers displaying during the voting process, social media and the trade show, but they are also supported by the prestigious Houlden Consortium where the winning designs will be showcased at top members’ stores, as well as Houlden’s buyers’ exhibitions in the year following the competition.
