The Houlden Group is using Jewellery & Watch Birmingham as the platform for its Bridal Design of the Year competition. The competition is the first of its kind and highlights Houlden’s passion for supporting design talent and its belief in the importance of diamonds in the bridal market.

The Mark Milton collections are a reflection and celebration of years spent sourcing and creating beautiful jewellery. From the wide-angled view of the world’s finest precious elements and most talented jewellery professionals, comes a distilled, capsule range of pieces for women. Every necklace, earring, bracelet and ring has been intelligently designed with meticulous attention to detail, for women with a passion for contemporary design-led accessories. Mark Milton – creator and curator – proudly presents the beautiful results of an exhaustive search for the perfect array of pieces. And with Mark’s unending dedication to his craft, and a commitment to making ever more exciting and unusual collections, this long journey may just be the start of another.
The competition was open to all designers and manufacturers exhibiting at Jewellery & Watch Birmingham, entrants were asked to design an engagement ring and wedding band combination set with diamonds. The winning design will be announced on Monday 3rd February and will be exclusively showcased in top Houlden member stores, as well as their buyer’s exhibitions throughout the year.
The Design Quarter continues to be the place of choice for showcasing top designer-makers. Packed full of top designer-makers exhibiting inspirational, exclusive collections and one-off pieces, it’s a must stop location at the heart of hall 18.
The BJA Competition
The winner of this year’s Cocktail Ring competition will be presented with the BJA Award 2014 at this year’s Jewellery & Watch Birmingham.
