Graphite Additive

South Africa in the summer of 2015. Graphite Additive Manufacturing, a supplier of 3D printed parts produced in high performance materials for the most demanding applications in motorsport, has been named as the latest Product Sponsor for the BLOODHOUND Project. Product Sponsors support the project in many ways including; advising on design considerations and material choices for the manufacture of key components of the rocket and jet powered BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car. Graphite AM has been specifically selected to provide 3D printed, carbon fibre reinforced laser sintered (SLS) parts such as ducts, covers and brackets, which will be utilised as final components on the car. The sintered parts will have a temperature resistance of 170ºC and be up to 400 mm in length in one piece. Graphite AM is in a unique position to support the project as it is the only service bureau in the UK market with a dedicated machine to run carbon fibre reinforced SLS parts.

Henkel opens its first impregnation service center in France I

n opening its new impregnation service center at Saint-Priest,

France, Henkel has further extended the range of services on offer to automobile manufacturers in Europe, with the added benefit of optimized availability close to the client plant. As the world’s leading manufacturer of impregnating agents and fully automatic process technologies for sealing porosities and cracks in metal castings and electronic components, Henkel reliably meets the requirements of modern automotive applications. Next to Germany, East Europe,

Japan and China, France counts among the more attractive

automobile manufacturing locations in the world. Keen to offer customers an optimal service close to their production facilities, Henkel has established a network of service centers, with eight in Germany and a further four further in Eastern Europe. Now it has opened its first Loctite Impregnation Service Center in France. “A market study has revealed strong growth potential in France, and particularly in the Rhône-Alpes region. By being right on the customer’s doorstep, we are able to ensure a first-class service extending from technical consultancy to the on-schedule supply of innovative products and the very latest technologies,” explains Maxime Barbier, Impregnation Sales Manager of Henkel’s Transport and Metal business in France. “As is the case at Henkel's other service centers, this new site meets the quality standards ISO TS 16949, EMS 14001 and OHSAS 18001.” Since 1976, Loctite impregnation processes have undergone continuous further development with the focus on sustainability and quality. Henkel has developed a recycling system with which the impregnation sealant is recovered from the wash water and returned to the impregnation process. Loctite impregnation products and technologies serve to reliably seal all forms of porosity, including blowholes and capillaries, in alloy castings, sintered metals, ferrites, ceramics and composite materials. The fully automatic process is designed to ensure the components subject to impregnation experience no damage or distortion. And once impregnated, the metal parts can be used without any post- treatment, free of corrosion and oxidation.

Nene’s revolutionary new shelf partitioning system

ene Storage Equipment’s totally new concept in pallet racking and long span shelving dividers is set to transform picking areas in warehouses and stock rooms.

N Called the Shelf

Partition System, the unique and adjustable system has been designed to fit any standard pallet racking or long span shelving and can be custom-built to suit any warehouse requirement. The system is suitable for use with all types of decking including wire mesh, galvanised steel, timber and chipboard. The versatile Shelf Partition System has two ingenious channel tracks fitted to the back panel of the system which act as runners, thereby enabling the individual dividers to be positioned according to the customer’s specific product requirements.

The dividers are quickly

and simply locked into place with a specially designed alum key allowing products to be laid against the rigid structure.

This flexibility

maximises the volume within the Shelf Partition System thereby avoiding the wasted space that occurs with fixed divider systems. Accompanying the Shelf Partition System are a number of shelf options which allow further flexibility for customers who wish to store smaller products or subdivide items for easy picking. The shelves can be installed at any level and are easily and quickly

dropped into place or removed without altering the dividers. Shelves are also available with a lip to contain product and with label holders to enable easy identification of products and stock. Manufactured from galvanised metal and epoxy coated for longer life, the basic Shelf Partition System comprises of a back panel and five dividers.

It is assembled in front of the pallet

racking or long span shelving and then slotted into the racking or shelving system using metal latches front and back, which holds the system in place without any sharp edges to cut or tear the product.

w Extra dividers can be quickly and simply

slotted in as required. The Shelf Partition System is available from stock in standard options of 900mm for pallet racking and 600mm for long span shelving with other sizes available to order. A single pallet racking bay costs £130 with discounts for multiple purchases.

Single long

span shelving systems costs £85, reducing in price for quantity purchases.

Shelving options start at

£3 for the small shelves rising to £6 for larger units.
