Mary Ethel Johnson Cornelius. He lived his entire life in Matagorda County with the exception of residing in Australia for 3 years with his family. He was a lifelong rancher, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a past director of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and a member of the Matagorda County Cattlemen’s Association and the Kansas Cattlemen’s As- sociation, as well as a number of other organizations. He is survived by his wife of more than 66 years,

and Ethel Mae Meaders Neystel. He attended Meridian schools, graduating in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and later attended the University of Texas. Neystel was a TSCRA brand inspector for 16 years, retiring in 2011. He is survived by his son Travis Randal Neystel, grandchildren and numerous other relatives.


Nancy Bryan Hunt Powell died on Oct. 7 at her home in San Angelo surrounded by family and friends. She


was born in San Antonio on Oct. 21, 1938, to Velma Savell Hunt and Zimri Bryan Hunt. She married James L. Powell Feb. 27, 1960. After graduating from Sonora High School in 1956,


she attended the University of Texas. She is survived by her husband, James L. Powell; daughters Lorrie Uhl and Victoria Johnson; brother, James Hunt; grandchil- dren and numerous other relatives.
