Norbar launches new electronic torque tool

Spirax Sarco launches high turndown, plug-and-play desuperheaters

pirax Sarco has launched the industry’s most comprehensive range of desuperheaters for precise control and efficient heat transfer when cooling superheated steam. Featuring a high turndown of up to 50:1, the desuperheaters are suitable for a wide range of applications and increase process efficiency by allowing waste and residual heat to be recovered and recycled. They also protect process plant from damage caused by overheating. Manufactured at Spirax Sarco’s UK factory, the desuperheaters are supplied as ready-to-install engineered systems, fully assembled with all the required valves, pumps, steam traps, controls and other ancillary equipment, saving installation time and project costs.

orbar, the world’s leading torque company, has designed the EvoTorque® to ensure that operators have the correct torque output from hard through to soft joints by utilising patent pending motor technology and control software. The EvoTorque® can also safely be used on pre-tightened bolts as part of a joint verification process. The range is available in both 110V and 230V versions. Importantly, the EvoTorque® is weather sealed to IP44 and equipped with a maintenance free motor. Torque control or angle control can be selected by the user on the tool and a clear signal on the tool indicates when the correct torque or angle has been achieved. Crucially, the EvoTorque® has a third party verified sound power of 72.3 dB (A) and vibration level of 0.304 m/s which significantly reduces any possibility of medical or health and safety related issues such as hearing loss or White Finger during use.

Scott Safety wins Thermal Imaging contracts

cott Safety has announced new contracts to supply its Eagle Attack thermal imaging cameras (TICs) to Cleveland Fire Brigade and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. In total, Scott Safety has supplied 250 thermal imaging cameras to 8 fire and

S

rescue services across the UK in the last 18 months, confirming the company’s reputation for manufacturing high specification, quality products. Both services conducted a fair tender process which involved shortlisted suppliers providing products for physical testing. Fire fighters put the various cameras to the test, awarding merit for ease of use, durability and whether they were fit for purpose. As a result, Cleveland Fire Brigade awarded Scott Safety the tender for 24 TICs. Following a similar process when cameras were tested against a set of mandatory requirements, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service also chose to partner with Scott Safety. With fire fighters particularly heralding its portable size, low cost unit price and ease of use, the Eagle Attack stood out from its competitors and a total of 36 cameras were purchased.

Kistler XY monitoring system is powerfull and flexible

he latest version of the Kistler XY monitoring system, the maXYmos TL, has increased capability with up to 8 XY channels and compatibility with a wide range of sensor types and communication protocols making it ideal for a variety of demanding process monitoring and product testing applications. The maXYmos TL may be used for simple force-displacement monitoring but the extended functionality makes more challenging assembly and product testing applications well within its capability. Key features are more powerful evaluation techniques, a larger selection of connectable sensors, wide range of fieldbus types, expandability up to 8 pairs of XY-channels and a large (10.4"), high-resolution, colour touch screen display. The fast data acquisition rate of 20kHz and cycle times down to 0.05 second, compatibility with a wide range of force, torque, pressure, position and angle sensors and communication with a number of different PLC types using Profibus DP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET & EtherCAT connectivity provides the speed and flexibility demanded by current production methods and test regimes. The short evaluation time allows monitoring of up to 20 parts/second, and both X- and Y-thresholds can generate switching signals for control purposes in real time. The built-in memory can store up to 128 measurement programs each with 10 evaluation objects ensuring flexibility in terms of evaluation criteria and variety of parts. The maXYmos TL is designed to support all common mounting configurations such as desktop, wall and front panel mounting giving the machine designer plenty of options.
