VEGAFLEX gains boiler control approval

Hydra-Cell Mono-Block Pumps Ease

Installation & Service

G03, G13 and P200 seal-less pump models. The new Mono-Block pump head combines the traditional valve plate and manifold into a single component, allowing easy access to the cartridge style valve assemblies. The valves are accessed easily without the need to disassemble the pump or disturb the system pipework.Routine maintenance, valve inspection and, if necessary, replacement, can be carried out quickly and efficiently and causes very little downtime while cutting service and maintenance costs. A further benefit of the Hydra-Cell with Mono-Block pump head is its ability to prime quickly at slow speeds. Mono-Block pump heads are available in brass or 3 16 stainless steel. Diaphragms are available in a range of materials from PTFE and Viton to Buna, Neoprene and EPDM, to suit the requirements of the liquid being pumped.

EGAFLEX 86 - part of the new generation of guided wave radar instruments is not only technologically one of the most advanced GWR sensors on the market and one of the simplest to set up, it also has safety accreditations for SIL 3. Additionally, it now features boiler level control approval for automated/unmanned operation according to EN12952-11:2007-Water tube and EN12953-9 :2007 for Shell type boilers (also as a limiting device in redundancy). It features a special compensation for the run time error in saturated steam applications and its own integrated stilling tube. This means a self- contained, ready calibrated and compensated device can be supplied for steam boiler level control with sensor specification capable of 400°C and 400 bar. The accreditation means boiler water level control using this device can operate accurately and fully automatically in accordance with safety guidelines, thus saving energy, increasing safety and productivity in the area of energy generation. This sensor can be installed directly inside or in an external chamber, with no moving parts to drift, wear or service, resulting in lower cost of ownership.

Automatic pin installation technology solves surgical instrument assembly problems

pirol Industries has developed technology to install miniature pins with a diameter less than 1.5mm automatically. This dispenses with manual installation that can be a time consuming process. What is more, scrap rates are often in excess of 10% due to pin damage during unsuccessful installation attempts.

S The advantages of Spirol's Pin Installation

technology have been demonstrated with a surgical tool manufacturer looking to review an installation process for an assembly. This required a 0.8mm diameter stainless steel solid pin to affix a nylon cylinder to a shaft.

The assembly consisted of an outer tube, inside of which was a

smaller hollow shaft and inside that was a solid rod. Spirol reviewed the entire assembly and offered a coiled spring pin as an alternative as this was 90% less expensive. The coiled pin was also allowed a much broader tolerance range in the holes - further reducing the assembly cost.

uantitech has launched a new portable gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS) and the company’s Dr Andrew Hobson is offering to visit trial sites, provide demonstrations and conduct analyses without charge. The TRIDION™-9 is the fastest portable GC-MS in the world, able to rapidly detect an enormous variety of chemical compounds in liquid, solid or gaseous samples. Dr Hobson says: “As part of the launch, we need to demonstrate the advantages of field analysis to as wide an audience as possible, so, for a limited period, we are offering to visit UK sites in order to test real samples. “The technology is ideal for environmental monitoring; petrochemical quality control; food/beverage safety, quality control and provenance; occupational safety; and research. However, it is not confined to these sectors, so our offer is available to anyone that needs fast results.”
