Order Picking With A Twist A

enter 806

fter noting inefficiencies within a busy order picking operation, Simon Brown, the Managing Director of Bendi, came up with the idea of an articulated forklift truck that combines a man-up order picker. Following 18 months of research, development and onsite testing, the Bendi Articulated Order Picking Truck is now in full production. The Bendi Order Picker can pick like any other stand-on order picker but it is the first truck that is designed to do “self replenishment”.

It has two pallet handling locations, which allows the operator to pick and replenish a location without having to call another machine for assistance or multi handle the picking pallet to get the replenishment pallet. As no other replenishment trucks are required, the Bendi Order Picker can take advantage of its aisle performance which can result in a near 50% reduction in wasted aisle space and a more efficient ‘ picking route’.

Service reporting tool provides new insight into battery performance history

by EnerSys® allows the company to maintain a full service profile and audit trail for its complete range of Hawker® batteries and chargers for

The new Service Activity Report Management (SARM) system developed

motive power applications. Information logged on to the system during installation and service visits can be analysed to prepare detailed reports and identify maintenance trends. Data can also be shared with lift truck OEMs and fleet operators to verify compliance with service levels and integrated into key performance indicator (KPI) reports. SARM has been developed to provide EnerSys with greater insight into the maintenance of its Hawker batteries and chargers used extensively throughout the UK for materials handling and other motive power applications. It is designed to ensure service-related information is collected and recorded consistently and accurately. The company also wanted to make more information available to lift truck OEMs and major customers who increasingly need to verify compliance with agreed procedures and maintenance contracts. Field service engineers can access the system and enter information in real-time directly from their laptops using any available internet connection. If connection is not possible at the time, data can be recorded on the laptop and uploaded at the next convenient opportunity.

correct torque output from hard through to soft joints by utilising patent pending motor technology and control software. The EvoTorque® can also safely be used on pre-tightened bolts as part of a joint verification process The range is available in both 110V and 230V versions.

Importantly, the

EvoTorque® is weather sealed to IP44 and equipped with a maintenance free motor. Torque control or angle control can be selected by the user on the tool and a clear signal on the tool indicates when the correct torque or angle has been achieved. Crucially, the EvoTorque® has a third party verified sound power of 72.3 dB (A) and vibration level of 0.304 m/s² which significantly reduces any possibility of medical or health and safety related issues such as hearing loss or White Finger during use.

PACEline range expanded

H

BM has expanded the capabilities of its PACEline range of piezoelectric transducers with a series of charge cables up to 7 metres long. The cables are designed to facilitate the integration of HBM’s PACEline products into existing systems. Piezoelectric transducers are used in applications when there is limited space for measuring equipment or when measurement tasks involve extremely small forces and high dynamics. HBM’s new charge cables combine easily with an extensive array of accessories, including mounting aids, summators and cable couplings, for its PACEline piezoelectric products. This means that the entire measuring chain for nearly all applications can now be supplied. All of the accessories conform to HBM’s high quality standards while the price/performance ratio remains extremely attractive to save users time and money. HBM Test & Measurement has established itself as a reliable partner for industrial applications with its PACEline piezoelectric products while demand for HBM solutions continues to grow steadily.
